Kahu Rangiuia Lindup
Kahu whakapapas back to Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti / Ngāti Porou. In 2018, Kahu attended the BLAKE Inspire programme as a year 13 student and then went on to form an enviro-club at his high school. While at high school he used the platform he built to get the school community involved with local initiatives such as Tairawhiti Environment Centre and the Gisborne District Council to help organise mass beach clean-ups throughout the Tairawhiti region.
Now, Kahu is a third year university student studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Education and Classical and Ancient History at the University of Auckland. Once finished his Bachelors degree, Kahu is hoping to begin his Post-Graduate and then Masters study within the field of environmental education and environmental advocacy within ethnic communities focusing on Māori communities.
Kahu is also a part of the BLAKE NZ-VR Team, where he is an environmental educator for many young New Zealanders throughout the Auckland region and the wider North Island. He views this role as an amazing opportunity to begin his pathway to his passion and pursue an environmental education-based career.
