BLAKE Inspire 2025

2025 brought 3 BLAKE Inspire programmes to life. In April, September and December, we saw 97 rangatahi come together from all across Aotearoa to spend a five days together immersed in science, adventure, and environmental leadership.

Across the year, students were split across programmes in the Waikato and Auckland and were able to explore the unique environments of both. They did this through learning about environmental issues that many regions of New Zealand are facing, including Climate Change/Huringa āhurangi, Marine/Moana, Biodiversity/Rerenga rauropi, and Freshwater/Wai Māori.

With the support of experts from a range of different science, business, environmental and leadership fields, students were able to create their own individual action plans as a result of attending BLAKE Inspire, that they wish to implement in their kura and hāpori.

What our participants say;

“I think Blake inspire is an amazing experience that taught me so much about the environment that I didn’t know before and being surrounded by people with so much knowledge and the same drive to make a change in our community today”

“I loved the programme, it got much better as the week went on, as people got more familiar with each other and started to bond more. I am struggling to think of negatives about the trip, I would recommend it to anyone with even a slight interest in conservation and environmental leadership in New Zealand.”

“Had the most wonderful time and learnt even more than I thought I would. All the staff were so kind and great at sharing their knowledge. There was a good  of activities in the program, and they exposed me to things I didn’t even know I would have interest in. Big thanks to everyone ❤️
