Andrew Berry became a Blake Leader in 2006 while serving as the Area Community Services Manager for Counties-Manukau Police. As part of his role, he led over thirty staff, initiating, maintaining and improving community relationships, and was responsible for the leadership of the Otara Police Station. Andrew was in the Police for thirteen years and last held the rank of Acting Inspector.

He has had a diverse history of leadership before the Police. Whilst completing a BSc in Zoology and an MSC (Hons.) in Marine Science at the University of Auckland, Andrew was responsible for Project Jonah’s Auckland Whale Stranding team and for volunteers in Auckland, Northland and Andrew was also a Department of Conservation Ranger at Goat Island Marine Reserve as well as an Honorary Fisheries Officer for the Ministries of Agriculture and Fisheries. Between 2010 and 2013, Andrew was the National Manager of Marine Pollution for Maritime New Zealand, and held senior roles during the C.V Rena oil spill and salvage response. He was also General Manager of Bullet Freight between 2012 and 2013.

Andrew Berry is currently the Managing Director of Superior Personnel, a recruitment and HR company specialising in temporary and permanent staff solutions for the freight and logistics, manufacturing, infrastructure and engineering sectors.
