Caleb Fraser
Kia ora koutou!
I’m Caleb, one of our environmental educators delivering NZ-VR in Otautahi, Christchurch. I grew up in Nelson with the Abel Tasman National Park at my doorstep, spending my days camping, hiking, swimming and kayaking on and around the golden beaches and crystal oceans that adorn the top of the South Island.
I studied a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of International Relations and Diplomacy at the University of Canterbury. I did this with the goal of bridging the gap between scientists and political changemakers in Aotearoa. In particular, I have a love for Antarctica and the Southern Ocean because of the way people have been able to come together and agree under the Antarctic Treaty to make Antarctica a place of peace, environmental protection and international collaboration, all in the name of science and conservation.
It’s a real privilege to help spread the kaupapa and continue the mahi of Sir Peter Blake. I look forward to visiting your school soon and connecting with our next generation of young environmental leaders.
