Frances Perry

Marine Ecologist

Frances is a Master’s student in the Marine Science department at the University of Otago, where she also completed her undergraduate Zoology and Marine Science degree. Her masters research is looking at the potential for New Zealand and sub-Antarctic kelp-associated invertebrates to raft to and then survive in a warmer Antarctica. Visiting the sub-Antarctic, Frances will collect the sub-Antarctic lineages of the invertebrate species she has studied in New Zealand, providing valuable insights into the thermal adaptations of these populations adapted to colder sub-Antarctic waters.
