BLAKE Inspire 2017
BLAKE Inspire 2017 was held in Auckland from April 18-24.
60 young environmental leaders from all over New Zealand and the Pacific Islands came together for a week of adventure-based learning, to address topical environmental issues facing our country, and develop strategies to address them.
With a focus on marine health, students spent the week learning about the environemtal issues facing the Hauraki Gulf and the waters beyond it.
“Everyone has their own type of leadership. I’m not a natural born leader but you also need leaders who can listen, learn and delegate. Everyone should have the chance to lead, so it will be cool to teach other kids at my small, rural school who have the potential but have never been asked to lead.”
