BLAKE Inspire for Sailors 2023

In 2023, BLAKE Inspire for Sailors brought together 20 young environmental leaders with a passion for sailing from all over New Zealand for a week of adventure-based, experiential learning and leadership development in, on and around the water in Auckland.

Students spent the week learning about topical environmental issues facing our country through participation and experience. The spent several days on Steinlager 2 in the Hauraki Gulf, explored Tiritiri Matangi, spent time at the Emirates Team New Zealand base and participated in a Yachting New Zealand Clean Club workshop at Wakatere Boating Club.

Assisted by environmental and sailing leaders, scientists and experts in the field, students developed their own individual action plans to implement in their sailing clubs and communities.
